another get together…

I really am glad that we’re still getting together after going through the Bradley classes together.  It makes me feel so relaxed and calm to be around other mothers with children the same age.  On the flipside, I walked to a neighbors house 3 streets up, and although she was super friendly, etc…  I was uncomfortable.  She had a son with a name of a city (won’t name here) and he is 4.  She told him my baby’s name and he snarled his nose and said, “I don’t like the name Lucas.”  Then he turned to his sister and said, “But I like YOUR name, ___________.”  OK.  I know he’s only 4 years old… But please?  I don’t need to be subjected to a child like that right NOW.  I can’t explain it but I was ready to go at that point.

Then I settled back into the big overstuffed chair to see several fleas jump on me and one on Lucas’ head.  Yep, I was done.  Fleas.

Luckily, a storm was coming and I was able to excuse myself to get home before the storm hit. 

Lucas cried the next 2-3 hours straight, which is unlike him.  I gave him a bath.  He settled down.

I had a great day today getting together with Genevieve, Michelle, and Maryanne with our babies.  Mine was actually due the same time with Genevieve on April 29th.  Her baby arrived on May 10th!  Mine arrived April 7th.  How crazy is that?  Anyway, it was wonderful to get together with them and to discuss how this has changed our lives in a good way.  None of them had trouble conceiving.  I opened up about my own miscarriage earlier, about charting, etc…  It was nice to shed some light on it and just be open about it.  It was nice to get out of the house and see them all again!  Only two other were missing.  Hopefully next time, we can add Melissa.
